Post subject: | T/S parameters error?? |
Hello lovely people! I recently decided to try and measure T/S parameters for an undocumented loudspeaker as per this method: http://sound.whsites.net/tsp.htm However, when I use a calculator for a box it states it needs to be about 400 litres, which is impossibly large. Are my calculations off? Speaker is 20W 4.5". Re=7.6Ohm Rs=8Ohm Vs=1V Fs=116Hz Vm=0.169V Im=0.021A Rm=39.6Ohm r0=2.5 Ir=0.033A Vr=0.264V Fl=102hZ Fh=130hZ Qms=6.55 Qes=2.01 Qts=1.54 Fs1=69Hz M1=5grams A=63.585 M=2.669 d = density of air = 0.001204 g/ml c = speed of sound = 345 m/s Cms=7.060187e-7 Vas=4.089lts Thanks in advance. |

Hello, welcome to the forum. Qts=1.54 so these speakers are meant to be use open baffle, open back speakers. A high Qts would be common for car speakers and in the case of vintage speakers with an open back enclosure or in a radio/phono console. The speaker magnet on a high Qts driver will be small relative to the driver. Hope this helps. |
