Ok I am wiring up a portable speaker for myself with a pair of 4" subwoofers from an old boom box i had. I would like to create a volume control for them and would like the to be rather loud (as loud as they can be on 4 or 8 AA bateries) i have been running them through the 3.5 mm headphone jack on my computer speakers for an amp. Recently however i pulled apart my older portible speakers (2 inch speakers no bass) that i want to upgrade. i was hoping to use this as my amp/volume control but just wiring the new speakers into where the old ones were isnt working the running light doesn't even turn on.

any suggestions/hints?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do?

Are you trying to upgrade the drivers in a amplified external PC speaker system? Can you post some pictures?
