This is about a chassis but not a Hammond - hope I'm not OT.
I've been looking for a cheap but attractive chassis for an ECL85 (Russian 6F5P) 4 tube stereo oddwatt, and I finally found what I was looking for:

The SMPS fits easily inside, as does the power tranny that is simply a 120/240 50 watt isolation transformer that was very inexpensive and is available at Mouser. The wood is heavy enough to tap screws into without going through the top or sides.
It's an upside down bowl from Walmart for less than $7 and it's one piece of wood and super sturdy. I could probably stand on it.
The OT's will be Edcors with end bells - the Specos are there to show the layout.
I think it looks cool. Once the knobs, jacks, switches and connectors are mounted nobody would suspect it was an upside down bowl.
It's not metal but it's a lot cheaper and it looks really nice. I'm shielding the inside with thin strips of sheet metal glued to the sides. The bottom will be a thin metal plate with lots of holes for ventilation.
