Hi

I want share my last project of ECL82 compact amplifier in old chassis (made in 1952). I am going to do one more project at the base of 4P1L tubes and look for possible ideas of old chassis to use. Would like also to see other people doing the same.

No, it is chassis from old fixed channel radio, made in 1952 in USSR. But is is ideal for this scheme by size. I had idea to put it down to show tubes in the middle, but it is big enough for close vertical design. But sound is also very good because it has individual L-filters for channels and powerfull transformer. All electronic components are connected in the air (no plated circuit).

And this tudes sounds very musical. It is more then enough for the room of 20 sq.m for me.

So what sort of speakers are you using with the little amp? Can you post photos of the rear and inside as well?
Cheers

These kind of projects are fun! :D I have an old HF cable boost device using 6DJ8's, one of these days I am going to turn it into a useful preamp.

I also am curious to see the back side of that cute little amplifier. ;)

Hi

I wrote a small article about this project http://www.doctor-k.org/eng/oldradio.html. There is chassis scheme here.

It has up to 4W power per channel. At the moment I use it with vintage speakers Optimus 990. It is very good combination and outstanding in term value for money.
