You could try Maker's Mark. It's only kind of expensive. Besides, with wheat in the grain bill it's a little less sour than the Woodford Reserve.

Matt I have moved to grander things. Now I just buy the Woodford for the knobs (not). Showed a few at the audio club last night. They were impressed. One guy pulled out his note pad and noted down the Whiskey. He IS a bourbon drinker. We may have another convert.

Good night at the club (we have about 100 turn-up at a time). It was an all digital night with files hosted on laptops through a few different D2As and speakers.

oh matt, oh dear............a fine touch indeed - love it to bits.

mark - what club is this you speak of?

back on topic - i was at the audio show on saturday here in VIC AU at the mariott - managed to get a VIP pass.
i noticed some valve amps which really worked for me enclosure wise. wood side panels (proper wood, not laminex or formica or worse, contact) which brushed aluminium finshes. they looked very 70's nostalgic - so my next incarnation (chip amp, monoblocks ala LM3875) will work to this effect, with a 200mm heatsink (yes mark you know the ones) across the back with IEC plug, toroid in each, brushed ally front panel with a power button only and a red power indicator.

a very similar approach to this

I was at the show too on Sunday. Shook hands with my mate Dan who knock-up the momentum. I made a few suggestion how he could improve the amp. Get rid of that silly gas meter gauge on the front to start with and replace those misty FETS with tubes.

He mumbled security the next thing I know I'm on the street. Anyhow good show. Careful, Gio will want a report next. B&W best speakers there in my "regarded" opinion. Ozzi Weston amps (lives near me) - winds all his own trannies - looked the best.
