Will give those suggestions a try. My aunt about 7 years older than me was crazy about the Beatles in the mid sixties though I was a bit young to appreciate them then just starting school. It took a while but having built the valve amp gave me a new level of enjoyment of the music from that period, my “golden period” being the 70s. May have to keep building new amps and speakers when the shine wears off. Currently enjoying Rubber Soul and Revolver which have remarkably good sound though can’t pick a favourite from any of the albums. Thanks for the music.

"30 Days in the Hole" (YouTube Link)
"Ninety-Nine Pounds" (YouTube Link)
"I Don't Need No Doctor" (YouTube Link)

In short, a goodly helping of "1970s Food for The Soul" courtesy of Humble Pie, "The Definitive Collection". And, yes, the CD is way better than the YouTube mixes.

I'm using my little 6EM7 set amp and filing my corner of the house with Rock/Soul fusion. Don't know what my neighbors think, but with any luck, they'll get into the groove as well!

a friend in chilly Toowoomba use to put on a tangerine dream LP forgot which after we had had too much beer and wine, soundscapes are incredible. Brings back youthful memories of rural travelling on my BMW R90s hiking and other adventures. It’s hard to believe I ever did that. Also been listening to humble pie Matt suggested plus some of their studio records from around 1970. Great rhythm section and dynamics. The same can be said of the kinks for which Lola and lazy Sunday afternoon were on one of my first greatest hits of the year albums I bought. The drumming and bass in both were spot on.
