I'll be there with a Last PAS modified Dyna preamp, and Transcendent Phono Pre and Grounded Grid line preamp built from kits. Might also bring a turntable.

Anyone need a ride out from the center of Houston?

I've set up both equipment racks so the top shelf is empty. A turntable will be fine. Be sure to bring some records and the phono pre also.

Hey Ed
Man we missed you there!
Fred was a great host. I really enjoyed myself, thanks Fred!
Good beer, pizza, pizza wine, champagne. What else happened? LOL
So we had Harold, Luther, Bob, Stuart, Logan, George, myself and our host Fred.
We listened to some different Line Arrays that were built by Fred. These were really nice speakers.... Oh man I think I have some pics... will have to get those off my camera.
We listened to Fred's Chip Amp, LM3886. Also his 300B I am guessing SE but could be PP, not sure. Had my Audio Nirvana's there and my Lighter Note preamp. You will have to hear that some time. Squeezebox, modded power supply. Fred's Cambridge Audio 840C.
I wish I could remember what brand speaker George brought, but they were powered and a little larger than bookshelf. More reference studio size. I liked those quite a bit.
Bob brought some tube pre's. He is an audio engineer for Rice University's radio station. Nice guy. He was trying to come up with a reason to keep his more expensive and nicer looking tube pre but his old absolutely horendous looking pre completely outshone it (these are both phono). I was not taking good notes on names of equipment Ed. Sorry man.
Stuart Yaniger showed up and I was really glad to finally meet him. Cool guy. Vegetarian like me so we shared a veggie lover's pizza. He brought the 'pizza wine.'
Oh we listened to some little tube pre kits that Fred and Luther both had. Again, at a loss. Wine clouded my memory I guess.
I had a good time and was happy to meet new people in audio that are rather local.
I think what we lacked was a badass amp. One of us has to come up with something incredible.
Hope to see you sometime soon Ed. Would love to listen to your gear again. BTW Gio would like to know about your tubed RIAA pre.
Uriah

Cheers

I dont know what pizza wine is. It was a joke Stuart had going. Guess its just cheap wine that goes with pizza as well as beer.

Actually, it goes better than beer.

Cascina Bruni Barbera d'Alba and Gruet Brut. Drinkable.

Great to meet everyone and thanks for putting up with me.

Thanks Uriah.
I knew I would miss a good time, not to mention pizza wine! :bawling:
Looks like we had another vinyl lover too, dang!
I would like to know more about Bob;s stuff you heard.
Glo. my phono pre is a Hagerman Coronet2 kit.with some variation on caps, and little tube rolling to find what I like. Pretty simple really.

Cheers all!
Ed

Hey it was really nice to meet you Stuart. Fellow vegheads unite!
Just got back from the Rodeo and Lady Antebellum concert. Little Gal Celia (3 yrs) was standing on my lap and singing the songs. Had at least 30 people watching her. Fun stuff :) Parent moment I wont forget.
I dont know what phono gear he had. Fred might remember but I was not taking notes. Your stuff, Ed, smokes Bob's. Although the one pre he had was very nice sounding your Hagerman is miles ahead.
