Hard to believe that AmpFest Downunder started 10 years ago. Today Dan from South Australia (12 hours drive away) arrives for AmpFest 2018. He is bringing a Hiraga designed KT88 SE amp which is beautifully finished as only Dan can (images to follow).
Also he is bringing his re-enclosured JLH amp which we heard last year at AmpFest 2017 - "The Trifecta". Called that because it was third we had run. This year "Quattro" for obvious reasons.
We start at my home with my new setup; Elite tube preamp, 150W class D monoblocks and Altec horns on a 12" sealed box woofer. My gear kicks off the afternoon, Dan's Hiraga follows on the Horns then we roll in the Markaudio 12Ps. Both amps get a play on these as with the horns.
Paul who lives nearby will be presenting his gear at his home Saturday night. Once more Altec horns, a new tube preamp and new tube phono stage. Then on Sunday back to Daves for a listen to his new OBs. Dan's Hiraga will get a run here also.
