I'm looking at building a 2.1 system from scratch. I want to make the crossover, amplifier etc all from scratch and I figured first task was to decide on what drivers to buy. I want a couple tweeters, a couple mid range speakers and a sub to create 2 desktop speakers and a subwoofer for under the desk. I'm limited in what I can buy due to being in the UK but I found a great European supplier which stocks a lot of the well known brands at reasonable prices.
I quite like the sound of Dayton speakers but I'm totally open to suggestions. Below are 3 links to the speakers I'm thinking of using at the moment. Would these 3 make a good combination? Do any of you have any better suggestions? Unfortunately I'm pretty much limited to items listed on this wesite:
