So I was perusing the projects earlier and saw that excellent looking turntable. I noticed that he suspended the tonearm ( unless I am mistaken ) with magnets. I also assume its levitating without any physical contact. I am a Mechanical Engineer and it seems to me that you want as little damping as possible in order to capture the transients with anything like realism. I can't imagine no matter how strong the magnets are that it wouldn't suffer a loss of energy by the arm moving. Am I wrong? And if so please explain. I would love to be wrong because it sounds really cool.
