Hi folks!
Well, we had a blast at the last get together. Time for another and AudioFred has graciously offered his home for this gathering. Its a good setting to. I was there recently for a get together with the Huston Audio Society where we interviewed several speakers. It was a lot of fun and there was quite a good amount of room with a good room to listen in.

This is a DIYers get together so if you build.. Be There!
Bring your own creations whether they are kits, point to points, or your own concept. Bring ANY gear. Amps, preamps, sources, speakers, and music. Something nice would be to have someone bring a DIY DAC and digital source to compare.

The date is the first Saturday in March. 3-06-10. More details later but PLEASE post if you have any thoughts of attending. Keep the thread going :)

Cant wait to see you all there.

Uriah and Fred

I'm hoping Uriah will bring his AN 12's. They sounded good in Austin, and I can only imagine how much better they'll sound since he yielded to the forces of darkness, compromised his integrity, and installed a BSC filter. I'll have a DSP in the system this time so we can lead him further astray with digital equalization. :D

For all the folks from Round Rock and that little town to their South who are thinking "Do I want to drive all the way to Houston for an audio meet", I live on the NW side of town, an easy 2-1/2 hour drive from Austin. We'll have two listening rooms with lots of interesting tube-friendly speakers including two line array pairs, One Pi Towers, FR driver MLTL bipoles, single driver MLTL's using the new Tang Band W8-1772 driver, etc etc

I'd like to come. I've been building speakers and audio gear, as time and money permits since the early '60s. I've also worked as a recording engineer and production engineer for an audio console company (API). currently I'm chief engineer of KTRU in Houston and occaisionally do a little classical recording on the side.

What's the address in Houston?

Bob

Bob, we're so glad you'll be joining us. It's on the NW side of town off Eldridge Pkwy, midway between I-10 and 290. I'll post directions about a month before the event.

Bob,
Hope you wont be leaving Houston to soon. I am sure us DIY audio guys have a thing or two to learn from you. Glad you will make it to the get together. Please, if you have any friends that DIY then feel free to invite them.

Trust me, if I could I would, I just have a strange occupation and that weekend is fairly important to me making a living.
I would much rather be listening to some good tunes and visiting about audio, even though I love my job.

Cheers
Ed

This is a reminder that the DIY audio get-together is still on for Saturday, March 6th at my house in West Houston. While the focus is on DIY, everybody is encouraged to bring anything they want others to see and hear. These meets are a great opportunity for a swap, so bring those items that are gathering dust on your shelf - somebody might have sometihing to trade.
