Hello all,

I must first say that I am a complete newbie to electronics. That said, I was listening to a friends DIY tube amp and LOVED the sound. He directed me here to help get started.

The question I would like help with is; where to get started if you have only "Basic Soldering" experience. Circuits and current etc are beyond me at this point. (Yup, a COMPLETE Newbie  .) I would really appreciate any recommendations.

My Thanks

Start with reading. Electrical safety, basic electronics, high voltage safety, tubes. Plenty of free info online plus there are many good books: http://diyaudioprojects.com/diy-audio/d ... -books.htm  Yup, boring, but that is the best place to start.

Then perhaps a low voltage tube headamp or preamp. Kit or a point-to-point. There are inexpensive kits available.

Welcome to the forum.
