Just write all of the actual prices in an envelope and give it to someone to give to her on the day of your death.on the other hand 6 feet of dirt may not stop her from unleashing all wrath when she realises that those output transformers werent a bargain of a lifetime

Hi All, I hardly consider myself anything other than a common diyer. But Master Bruce has sort of a nice ring to it. 'nuf BS. I did indeed come up with a design along those lines that will (should) work rather well. I was a concept I had initially regarding how to make a tube headphone amp using 6J6s (the little tubes with the cathodes internally connected). The transformer would then be an interstage 15K CT to 150 ohms CT. It works fine with a modest B+ of 100-150 volts. I think you all can figure out how to make this idea work. Then the thought came to me that this would be a good driver for a push pull output stage. Thus the amp design that was mentioned in an earlier post. The driver should be able to provide sufficient signal to drive any of the usual power tubes up to the KT120s either in oddwatt configuration or a more conventional one.

Have fun with the concepts
Good listening
Bruce

Master Bruce kindly gave me permission to post his complete (although not yet perfected) design with the NFB loop. When I have a neat drawing of the circuit I'll post what I'm constructing. It should be an interesting build.

Edcor wait time is down to 3 weeks so I should have the trannys soon.
