Hi, A question that makes you think. However the answer is no. The ESL panels are like capacitors and do not pass DC current so there is no way to get the current through to the tubes. Now for the other possibility. If the ESL is driven by a step up transformer then it might be possible to use it if it has a center tap. Beware you may fry it in the process. Even if it works the response is unpredictable. Another concern is that ESLs tend to need a high voltage that is way in excess of what the tubes would take. My ESLs use about 2000 VDC. My personal sense is to get the proper output transformer and leave well enough alone. BTW the 6BQ5 version is not likely to be powerful enough. I find the KT88 version preferable and even the KT77/EL34 versions to be pretty suitable. But this is based on Martin Logan ESLs, Quads and others need more muscle and even the KT120 version might not be enough for some folks.
