Sorry if this has already been requested but can the Raytheon JAN 6418 sub-miniature pentode valves be used in guitar FX pedals? I am looking for schematics for a HV design...not the starved plate ones readily available today.
If not has anyone here used switching mode power supplies to get the high voltages needed to design a compact 12AX7 guitar preamp in a stomp box?
I see a https://diyaudioprojects.com/Tubes/6418 ... reamp-Kit/ so the Raytheon JAN 6418 sub-miniature pentode valves must be fairly audio friendly. Is this true?
I see them readily available on EBAY as NOS so just curious if anyone has had luck using them. Are there better sub-miniature valves available that might be better in a pedal design?
Anyway...any help, tips or schematics would be awesome! I'm just looking for something to work on during this dang virus!
I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and we can all get back to normal soon!
