Hi!

I´m looking for a simple project, that can offer me the possibility to connect my laptop to my MiniDisc and record some nice flac files ( I have dozens of blank MD´s ).

The MiniDisc has 2 audio inputs, like coaxial and optical @ 48KHz (16bit or 24bit).

I found this Texas IC interesting, but it has several other functions that I don´t need.

It seems to be easy, but I have no feedback on this.

Do you know any other circuits that suits my needs?

Texas PCM2705 Datasheet (July 2012): http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/pcm2705c.pdf

Cheers in advance!

Miguel

Sony MiniDisc? That uses compression not unlike a .mp3. If you're sourcing .flac, you're gonna loose something :-\

Cheers!

In fact I find the ATRAC compression very efficient...

I have a MDS-JA20ES unit, and it plays very well in 20bit.

I would love to give it some good use :)

Cheers,

Miguel

Hi Miguel, that kit is no longer offered.

You can find PCM2704 usb dacs on ebay for under $15 - search "pcm2704 usb dac". I just recently picked up an ELE brand one and it is good for the price. You can take it out of the case if you want to put it into a DIY project.

Cheers
